Oceania Cruises unveils its most ambitious reimagining yet, a boutique ship built for the world's most immersive, far-reaching voyages.
Meet Oceania's New Ship
Recently, Cruise Insider Sale executives had the opportunity to attend the exclusive Oceania Cruise Connoisseur Summit, an invitation-only gathering of the brand’s top 25 travel agency partners. During the event, Jason Montague, Chief Luxury Officer of Oceania Cruises, officially introduced Oceania Aurelia — offering an early look at what is shaping up to be one of the most important launches in the company’s history.
Debuting in late 2027, Oceania Aurelia is a complete reimagining of Oceania Nautica, rebuilt from the ground up as the ideal home at sea for extended global discovery.
Oceania Cruises has long defined the upper tier of culinary- and destination-focused cruising. With Aurelia, they are setting a new standard entirely. Based on insights shared directly by senior leadership at the Summit, this is not simply a refurbishment; it’s a deliberate evolution toward longer, more immersive journeys designed for seasoned travelers and world-cruise guests.
The announcement was part of a broader strategic vision shared by Oceania’s leadership team, including Nathan Hickman, Chief Sales Officer, and Franco Semeraro, Chief Experience Officer, both of whom emphasized Aurelia’s role in expanding the brand’s focus on experience-driven, destination-rich travel.
Launching under the OceaniaNEXT program, the ship blends the airy openness of Oceania’s newest vessels with the intimacy of a boutique hotel, creating a club-like atmosphere where guests feel at home, voyage after voyage.
Aurelia will serve as the centerpiece of Oceania’s 2028 and 2029 Around the World voyages, as well as a series of Grand Voyages spanning far-flung destinations across the globe, underscoring the brand’s continued investment in extended itineraries, a key theme echoed throughout the Summit.

A Residence at Sea
With 179 of 238 staterooms designed as suites, Aurelia leans heavily into the residential experience that extended voyagers crave.
Most suites offer more than 300 square feet of space, with select categories extending up to 1,000 square feet. Many feature separate living and dining areas, creating a true “home at sea” for longer journeys.
The accommodations include newly designed Oceania and Horizon Suites, along with reimagined Owner’s, Vista, and Penthouse Suites. Oceanview and Inside staterooms are also available, each thoughtfully appointed to ensure comfort throughout extended stays.
"She is designed specifically for guests who desire greater space, more suites and a deeper level of personalized care, particularly for extended journeys." - Jason Montague, Chief Luxury Officer, Oceania Cruises
Insider Tip: Suite category becomes far more important on extended voyages. On a short sailing, it’s simply extra space—but on a 60-day Grand Voyage, it becomes your home at sea. Experienced world travelers often say they wish they had upgraded.
The Finest Cuisine at Sea
Dining aboard Aurelia is a destination in itself.
Beloved venues return, including The Grand Dining Room, Polo Grill, Toscana, Terrace Café, Waves Grill, and an evening Pizzeria. Menus will continue to reflect the regions the ship explores, reinforcing Oceania’s destination-driven philosophy.
New additions bring fresh energy onboard including:
- A Bakery featuring European pastries and artisan breads
- A Crêperie serving fresh crêpes, waffles, and gelato sundaes
- The signature Barista's coffee experience relocated to the airy Horizons lounge
- The new Founders Bar, showcasing craft mixology during evening sailaways
More to Discover Onboard
Extended time at sea opens the door to deeper exploration, and Aurelia is designed to make every day meaningful.
A new Chef’s Studio offers hands-on culinary workshops inspired by global destinations, while the Artist Loft invites creative expression. The LYNC Digital Center provides interactive classes for the tech-curious, and a robust enrichment program features guest speakers and cultural experts.
For the first time on any Oceania ship, all guests will enjoy complimentary unlimited access to the Aquamar Spa Terrace, which is a significant enhancement to the onboard wellness experience.
Insider Tip: The Aquamar Spa Terrace is included for all guests—but on port days, when most are ashore, it becomes a quiet retreat that feels almost entirely your own.
